Terms and Conditions

1. Bespoke Bicycle Orders

All bespoke bicycles and custom-built products are manufactured to your individual specifications, including frame geometry, finishes, and component choices.

Once your order has been confirmed and production has begun, changes may not be possible.

 

2. Deposits & Payment

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when placing an order for any bespoke bicycle or custom-built item.

This deposit secures:

  • Design and consultation work

  • Materials and components

  • Workshop production time

Production will not begin until the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance must be paid in full before collection or dispatch.

 

3. Cancellation & Returns

Bespoke / Custom Items

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, bespoke and personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation period.

As all bespoke bicycles are built specifically to customer specifications:

  • Bespoke bicycles and custom items are non-refundable

  • Bespoke bicycles and custom items are non-returnable unless faulty

 

Non-Bespoke Items

For standard, non-custom products purchased online:

  • You may cancel within 14 days of delivery

  • Items must be unused and returned in original condition

  • Return postage costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty

 

4. Lead Times

Any lead times provided are estimates only.

While we aim to meet all projected completion dates, delays may occur due to:

  • Supplier delays

  • Material availability

  • Specialist finishing processes

  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control

We will keep customers updated throughout the build process.

 

5. Design Approval

Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving all specifications before production begins, including:

  • Geometry

  • Sizing

  • Paint and finish

  • Components and configuration

Barbastelle Ltd cannot be held responsible for approved specification errors once manufacturing has commenced.

 

6. Faults & Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all products supplied by Barbastelle Ltd must be:

  • Of satisfactory quality

  • Fit for purpose

  • As described

If you believe your item is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with details of the issue.

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will repair or replace the item in accordance with your statutory rights.

This does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Accidental damage

  • Improper maintenance or storage

  • Misuse or racing damage

  • Third-party modifications or repairs

  • Damage caused by crashes or impact

 

7. Warranty

Frame Warranty

All Barbastelle Ltd bicycle frames include a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects for the original owner from the date of purchase.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Crash damage

  • Corrosion caused by neglect

  • Cosmetic wear

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or modification

  • Normal wear and tear

Components

Individual components are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties where applicable.

Proof of purchase may be required for all warranty claims.

 

8. Collection, Delivery & Risk

Ownership of goods transfers once full payment has been received.

Risk passes to the customer upon:

  • Collection; or

  • Confirmed delivery to the provided address

Customers should inspect goods upon receipt and notify us promptly of any transit damage.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under UK consumer law.

Barbastelle Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Delays outside our reasonable control

  • Damage resulting from improper use or maintenance

Nothing excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law

 

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
